At The Alternative Lair, we are dedicated to providing a haven for teenagers and young adults who may feel like they don't fit into traditional molds. We understand that there are individuals in our community who are searching for a place to connect with like-minded souls, express their true identities, and find a supportive network that celebrates their individuality.

Our facility is designed to be a teen hangout location that breaks the barriers of societal norms. We specifically target individuals aged 15-21, who are old enough to drive but not quite old enough to go to bars or other adult-oriented venues. We recognize the importance of providing a safe and inclusive environment for those who identify as goths, alternatives, LGBTQ+, or simply as individuals who don't conform to mainstream expectations.

When designing our space, we are mindful of the need to strike a balance between creating an exclusive venue for teenagers and young adults and ensuring that our facility remains accessible to the wider community. That's why we are open to the public and encourage community engagement. We firmly believe that having a dedicated space solely for teens and young adults might be perceived as patronizing or daycare-like, potentially discouraging them from coming. By opening our doors to the community, we foster an inclusive atmosphere that promotes understanding, acceptance, and genuine connections across different age groups.

Within our facility, we envision 3-5 distinct themed rooms that offer immersive experiences and serve as gathering places for our visitors. These rooms will be large enough to accommodate comfortable living room-style seating for up to 12 people. They will be available for rent, allowing individuals to host memorable parties and celebrations within a creatively designed setting. When not reserved for private events, these rooms will transform into social hubs, offering a space for friends to hang out, socialize, and create lasting memories.

While we are still in the process of finalizing the themes for our rooms, some top contenders include Gothic, Games, Outdoor, Serenity Zone, and Japanese Tearoom. Each theme will be meticulously curated to provide a unique ambiance, catering to diverse interests and preferences. We want to ensure that every visitor finds a room that resonates with their individual tastes and allows them to fully immerse themselves in an atmosphere that sparks joy and inspiration.

Additionally, if we are fortunate enough to secure a sufficiently large facility at a reasonable price, we plan to include a stage area where local bands can perform and local plays can be showcased. This will offer a platform for budding artists to showcase their talent, fostering a vibrant arts scene within our community.

In a town of approximately 30,000 people, we understand the power of word-of-mouth as the most effective form of advertising. We trust that our unique concept and the experiences individuals have at The Alternative Lair will naturally generate buzz and spread through the community. To supplement this, we will utilize social media platforms and local Facebook groups to reach out to our target audience and engage with the community.

We are also passionate about giving back and making a positive impact beyond our facility. We provide opportunities for individuals to get involved through donations and volunteering. By contributing to our cause, supporters play a vital role in helping us maintain our welcoming space and providing resources for those who may need assistance.
